It has taken a long time to get to this stage but, Casa Mariana is finally opened and the children moved in a few days ago. They are very happy and it is amazing to think that Persida and Cristi once lived on a rubbish dump with their mum, who six years ago died of AIDS, now live in a beautiful new house built in her name.
The story of Casa Mariana is a story of hope, Mariana when she was alive could not give much to her children, but she could give them opportunities in their lives with the legacy that she left behind for them. By leaving them in the care of Love Light Romania she was able to try and full fill her dream which was that she did not want future generations of her family living in poverty and squalor. Ironically Ursela, Mariana’s granddaughter, is currently staying temporarily with Love Light Romania and is also enjoying the first days of Casa Mariana.
So it is a new beginning for Love Light Romania, the Sanctuary will now have more room to once again welcome new residents. Casa Mariana will be a home that represents hope, Persida and Cristi, along with other children will have a bright and productive life because of the courage of a lady, who through her own `adversity had the insight to bring better opportunities and break cycles of poverty in the future lives of her two youngest children.
